Good girl-Bad girl outfit
I’ll admit it- decisiveness is not my strength and I absolutely cannot seem to ‘define’ a watertight space in which I could fit my personality. I mean- mountain person or beach person? Books or parties? Career in fashion or social work? Classic or funky style? Sushi or butter chicken? I simply cannot pick one and do justice to myself; the answers may even change a couple of times a week. I certainly don’t think that makes me fickle, in fact, I think I just have a strong instinct to satiate the different sides me.
The challenge at hand today was to embrace the side of me inclined to wear classics only and pull off an edgy 20-something girl look at the same time .
I knew I wanted to stick to my white blazer, but also did not want a regular going-to-a-meeting look. I picked my Forever 21 blazer with a pair of very, very ripped jeans, again from Forever 21. I chose light blue jeans as I am digging stuff in same or similar color tones; my moodboard has no sharp contrast colors right now. I wore a blue tube underneath the blazer and chose a pair of basic black heels from Zara. To finish, I put on a light shade of lipstick and a white choker. As I stepped out, I put my Aldo shades on. I quite liked the final look, I think it was both classy and fun.
In the evening, I decided to that add that extra edge to the look and ditched the tube, put some wet- hair gel and brushed back my hair. I also put on a dark brown lip color to complement the changes I had made. I couldn’t find my camera in the evening (where does the damn thing wander off to when you need it!) and only managed a few pictures with my phone.
Anyone who knows me personally would have noticed that I wear blazers throughout the year, in any climatic condition, work day or not. I think a white blazer is a fashionista’s wardrobe essential. How many times do I have my heart set upon wearing a fancy off shoulder dress but I’m going to a place that is a real bummer in comparison, or I am wearing my worst casuals and there’s no time to dress up for a party (when’s the next Sundowner?). Dressing up really is half the fun, no? So then – ta-da-ta-da- white blazer to the rescue in both situations. And that is why it’s a must have-Its classy and I can use it to dress up or dress down in minutes. What I love about a white blazer is that it is always a safe bet; there are very few things that it would not go with (unless you’re wearing a red carpet worthy gown. Hmmm.).
So here was my good girl-bad girl look for the day! Tell me if you liked it 🙂
