DIY Lip Scrub
We all love gorgeous lips, but there is more to a perfect pout than lipstick and gloss. I’ve always been the girl with perpetually chapped lips (and many looks with dark lipsticks have got ruined in the past, sigh!). Lip balm alone could never save my lips from nasty chapping..
Now that I have found something that works like magic for me, I am going to share it with you here. Gentle scrubbing and moisturizing can do wonders to keep your lips clean and healthy. Here is how to DIY some super easy to make lip scrubs at home using ingredients straight out of your kitchen!
Things you will need to make a lip scrub at home
A moisturizing base such as almond oil, coconut oil or olive oil. Honey is an excellent base that has antibacterial properties. You will also need an exfoliant such as brown sugar, white sugar or coffee grounds. It is optional to add an ingredient for fragrance such as cocoa powder, cinnamon powder or vanilla extracts (Good luck resisting eating up your scrub).
How to DIY the lip scrub
Combine the ingredients gently but take care not to over-mix, as the exfoliant might melt. You can use these proportions:
Your very own brand of lip scrub is ready! You can label and store it in a small airtight container in the refrigerator and use within 2 weeks. It is a good idea to take it out from the fridge 10 mins before use, so that the ingredients can soften.
Goodbye chapped lips, hello lusciousness.
